Studentnet® Cloudburst
May 2016
Studentnet is proud to announce new features and new services being supported
in our latest release of Cloudwork.
Plus we're getting very excited about our upcoming user group meetings, one in
Melbourne and another in Sydney. We're looking forward to receiving your direct
feedback and suggested improvements. Read more below...
Office365 – Just another Cloudwork Service – Simple, Integrated,
Full Featured & Inexpensive
How do you support Office365 single sign on in your Windows network? If you
follow
Microsoft best practices guidelines, they recommend a
configuration requiring 5 virtual machines (2 for ADFS, 2 for ADFS proxy, and a
load balancer). Even existing Cloudwork users need an extra Cloudwork Identity
Node(CwIN) on their network.
Now, Cloudwork fully integrates support for Office365 into your existing setup
without requiring any extra infrastructure. With this new feature Office365
just becomes another service supported by Cloudwork. This not only reduces cost
and complexity but also means that Office365 statistics and logging are all
integrated into your Cloudwork Dashboard.
Your bottom line benefits are saved costs, simplified operations, better
reporting and control, and a single point of management. As Office365 is simply
another Cloudwork supported service (just like any other), there is no
additional charge for this feature.
Existing Cloudwork users of our Office365 feature should contact us so that we
can schedule installation of the new Office support feature. To enable
Office365, simply open your Cloudwork dashboard and navigate through
Cloudwork dashboard > Features > Single Sign On > Request New
Services > Microsoft Office365.
Dashboard Reporting: Password Reset Events
The password reset events are now logged by Cloudwork. The newly logged events
are viewable in your Cloudwork Dashboard along with the existing event types.
Cloudwork provides a rich logging and reporting facility through the Dashboard.
All event types logged by Cloudwork are extremely useful for network usage
monitoring and forensic investigations into unexpected activity.
Login Page Themes – configurable in the Dashboard
We have simplified the process of establishing your own login pages by
providing a login page theming facility in the Dashboard. This facility
provides a simple login page template that can be configured to reflect your
school's identity.
Try it our now using our Demonstration facility. Navigate to the
Demonstration
Dashboard then click
Demonstration Dashboard > Features > Login
Theme. Remember any changes that you make will be saved and reflected on
the demonstration login page once you log out.
Username Lookup Feature
Tired of users forgetting their usernames to login? Now your users can request
an email or SMS to remind them of their username from the school's login page.
Works great for infrequent users, such as parent accounts.
User Group Meetings
Studentnet is constantly working on improving Cloudwork by adding more new
features. The source of our best ideas for new features is our user community,
that's all of you!
We're planning on renewing our user group meeting program by announcing two
upcoming meetings:
- Melbourne Cloudwork Users: Planned for August to coincide with, or just
prior to, the Leading
a Digital School conference, August 25-27, 2016.
- Sydney Cloudwork Users: Planned for late July, venue to be announced.
Further details on both meetings will be announced shortly. Announcements for
the meetings will appear in our
new blog facility, available here, our next edition of the
Cloudburst newsletter, and in popular industry forums such as
MITIE.
Let us know if you have any questions.
Best Regards
The Studentnet Team
